Charlene, if summer fails, or if you have leftover late season tomatoes. Rather than wait to ripen, green tomato chutney is also amazing. Do a search for it on google. We always make some (well, the wife makes it) and keep it for Christmas, to enjoy with the cheeses.
Yes, I have heard of green tomato chutney and it is indeed a great idea if you end up with a lot of green tomatoes. Yummy!
